Talani Torres

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Talani Torres, our new Interim Dean of Humanities!

Talani brings a wealth of experience in budgeting, scheduling, adjunct recruitment, problem resolution, talent grant administration, and large event coordination to this role from her time as the Director of Dance here at FSCJ. Talani has been with FSCJ since the fall of 2011 and served as a First Year Advocate, Professor of Dance, and Director of Dance.

Some of her major accomplishments include starting the Get Moving, FSCJ! Campaign to promote wellness through movement, selection as a finalist in Ovation TV's One Dance One Chance National Scholarship competition for choreography, and earning a Top Paper Citation from the National Dance Education Organization for co-authoring So We Think We Can Learn how student perceptions affect learning. Prior to coming to FSCJ, Talani owned her own dance studio in Miami for ten years and ran the non-profit, Miami Children's Dance Ensemble. Her leadership and dedication to students, faculty, and our institution will be important assets as we move into the new academic year. Please join us in congratulating her and welcoming her to this position!
