Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Shannon Groff, our new Interim Program Manager, Department of Education and Human Services!

Shannon Groff has worked in higher education for over fifteen years of which she has experience in educational theory, course development and design, e-learning, quality assurance, student engagement, curriculum design, faculty training and development, program review, and accreditation. 

She began working for FSCJ in 2003 as a professor of English and Education. During her years at the college, she has worked on numerous projects, presented at both national and international conferences, and has represented our college through publications and speaking engagements. Shannon has worked in community partnerships with Duval county as well as community service projects around Jacksonville. During her tenure at FSCJ, she has served on numerous committees and advisory boards at local, college, and state levels. Prior to joining FSCJ, Shannon was a high school teacher in Duval County.

Shannon adheres to a belief in education that the key to successful motivation of learners is in building relationships while embracing educational theories to create positive learning environments. She believes in interprofessional collaborations between colleagues, departments, and campuses that promote service learning and community networking.

She holds a master's degree in Education from the University of North Florida where she specialized in English Education and a doctorate degree from Northcentral University where she focused on Educational Technology and e-Learning.
