Academy Members


Dr. Susan Slavicz currently serves as the Director for the Academy for Teaching and Learning. Dr. Slavicz has worked at Florida State College at Jacksonville as a full-time composition and literature instructor since 1990. She was one of the first English instructors to design and teach online courses at the college and was a founding member of the leadership council for the Southeastern Center for Cooperative Learning. Susan is a lifetime member of the Two Year English Association - Southeast, having served as advertising manager, treasurer and chairman for the organization. Most recently she served as the Southeast national representative to the National Council for Teachers of English.

Having experienced the impact of professional development through college supported programs and through her involvement with a discipline specific organization, Susan is dedicated to supporting and encouraging a diversity of professional development opportunities for both new and experienced faculty.

Dr. Audrey Antee has been a Professor of English at FSCJ since 2010. She earned her master's in English Literature from UNF in 2004 and completed her doctorate in Educational Technology from UF in 2017. Her research interests include collaborative learning and technology, mobile learning, and faculty use of technology and accessibility to name a few. She has taught professional development workshops at FSCJ since 2011, mostly focusing on uses of instructional technology. Professor Antee also serves on the History and Heritage Committee and is Co-chair of the Letters Council.

Professor Jeniah Jones has been a Professor of Adult Education Mathematics at Florida State College at Jacksonville for the past five and a half years. A continuing contract recipient, Jeniah has served the Adult Education department and the College community since she first began. Jeniah proudly serves her college as the Downtown Campus Representative for UFF, your Faculty Union, a Downtown Campus Senator for the Faculty Senate, a member of the Curriculum Committee, Faculty Advisor for the Adult Studies Club, and the Chair of the Safety and Security Committee. In 2017, Jeniah won the Exemplary Practice of the Year award for the Association of Florida Colleges' Commission on Workforce, Adult, and Continuing Education. It was the first time this award has ever been given in this commission! Additionally, Jeniah is "PowerPoint Girl" for the Annual Student Awards ceremony and hopes to one day get to do another task, ANY other task, or at the very least receive a minor promotion to "PowerPoint Woman." Jeniah has been serving on the Academy for Teaching and Learning since January 2018.

Dr. Theresa Dyer-Kramer is a Professor of Nursing in the BSN program at Florida State College at Jacksonville. She is a registered nurse with over 35 years of experience and is prepared with a doctorate degree. Dr. Kramer joined Florida State College at Jacksonville in the spring of 2015. Prior to this time she held multiple academic and clinical positions and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Nurse Executive-Advanced. Her clinical expertise is varied including experience in medical surgical nursing, infusion therapy, home health, quality and case management, community health, accreditation for the college, hospitals, long term care facilities and ambulatory care centers.

Dr. Samantha Ertenberg is a Professor of English on the Downtown Campus and has been with FSCJ since 2012. She has a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction, an MA in English, and an MA in International Studies.

Professor Mathew Keyes has been teaching full time for nearly a decade. He began at FSCJ in 2014 as the Financial Services major was being developed and launched. Professor Keyes is originally from St. Louis, Missouri but moved to Florida to attend Webber International University where he received his Bachelors in Finance. Before continuing his education Professor Keyes worked in the Finance industry for nearly ten years. In 2009 he completed his Masters of Science in Finance from the University of Tampa. Professor Keyes is currently working towards his DBA at California Southern University. Outside of teaching, Professor Keyes is a devoted husband, father of three, and cub scout leader.

Sharon Uskokovich has been a full-time, faculty librarian at FSCJ's Kent Campus Library and Learning Commons since January 2015. Prior employment at FSCJ was part-time as a reference librarian, while employed full-time as a media specialist and classroom teacher in Duval County Public Schools. She has an MA in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida, and a BA in Deaf Education/Elementary Education from Flagler College. Her teaching career has spanned many academic levels over twenty years; most recently, she taught LIS 1001: Introduction to College Research as an online and hybrid elective course.
