Scott Cason

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Scott Cason, our new interim Department Chair for Humanities!

2018 begins Scott's fourth year as a full-time employee at FSCJ. Before becoming a full-time faculty member in 2015, he served as an adjunct at FSCJ. Scott will always be indebted to Dean Richard Greene, who opened the door for him to teach in the Summer of 2008.

Scott's primary position is that of Professor of Humanities at South Campus. He has a long history of developing online content for FSCJ, stretching back to his days as an adjunct. This relationship continued during his years as a full-time employee. Indeed, in recent years, Scott has had the great fortune of working with the talented team in Open Campus to develop OER (Open Educational Resources) versions of the Humanities: Foundation and World Religions courses. This has proven a rewarding experience, as it has allowed the team to create rigorous and engaging content at a low cost to their students. Scott is truly appreciative for the chance to serve in the role of Interim Department Chair of Humanities. Besides the opportunity to learn how the college operates at the systemic level, he looks forward to serving the Humanities faculty over the next year, as well as our new Interim Dean, Talani Torres. Please join us in congratulating him and welcoming him to this position!
